The design of a functioning ESD shading system, that is complimentary to the buildings architecture and creates two distinctive visual identities to the two sections so that external treatments of the building maintain a consistency of concept with the interior environmental graphics and feature wall designs.

Using multiple shades of red and varying perforation sizes it was possible to accentuate the triangular appearance within the panel at the front of the building, whilst creating a more dynamic and challenging appearance from the side of the building.
For the facade of the Technical Trades Centre it was possible to achieve a more subtle appearance replicating the pattern of the orange 'metal nano particle' seen on the outside cladding of the building by utilising the same multiple sized perforations which in turn visually keyed all of the external facade elements of the entire building together.
This simple and subtle pattern execution unassuming in character during daylight hours, polarises with the full impact of the building and the shade's perforations being evident at night while filtering the bright light from with the workshop.
